God Reaching Down to Mankind”    TEXT:      Matthew 1:18-25 THESIS:  Religion is mankind reaching up to God.  Christianity is God reaching                     down to mankind through Jesus Christ.    * * * I.  There are many religions today reaching up to God.            A.  Their _________________ may be right but their _________________ is wrong.    Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  John 14:6                      1.  The words of Jesus are __________________.  If you believe Jesus’ words,                          you must agree that Christianity is the only means to God.                      2.  God being _________________ _________________ realizes that wishful                            thinking will not free you from Satan’s grasp.                      3.  God being __________________ seeks a way to pay for our sin.    II.  God in his infinite mercy and wisdom launches a _______________          _________________ to come to earth and rescue sinful man.            A.  Jesus Christ is the silver-bullet of God.                      1.  Jesus is God _____________________.    “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...the Word became flesh.” See John 1: 1 & 14                      2.  Jesus’ conception was an immaculate conception.                              a.  The conception of Jesus was supernatural and not ___________________.                            The “___________________________________________________________________,                                   what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”                              b.  Mary remained a virgin even after Jesus was conceived, and                            remained a virgin right up until she had relations with Joseph.    III.  God is reaching down to mankind through Jesus Christ in hopes that            people will __________________  to his rescue attempt.    “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:  While we were still singers, Christ died for us.”  Romans 5:8            A.  God loves you and wants you to respond to his love by accepting his Son               Jesus Christ.            B.  Jesus is your ____________________ hope.
