Text Box: People Matter to God      Text:    Genesis 2:4-25; John 3:16 Thesis:  People matter to God and as his Church, people should matter to                 us.    I.   God goes to great lengths to make us ___________________________.      A.   God provides Adam and Eve with a ____________ ___________home.             1.   The Garden of Eden is _________________________, even with                    _______________________. (pleasing to the eye)              2.   God ensures that there are _______________ ________________.             3.   There is an _____________________ supply of food.             4.   God not only creates Adam and Eve for each other, but offers                    ______________________for fellowship.      B.   God is calling his Church to use his principle of __________________to              reach out to a fallen world.             1.    God is calling us to a “whatever it takes” mentality, not a                    “just get by” attitude in reaching people for Jesus.              Listen to God’s Extravagance:                           “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious                            riches in Christ Jesus.”  Phil. 4:19     C.   God has set into motion the greatest extravagant, all out rescue mission              through his one and only son, Jesus Christ.  (see John 3:16)    II.   God found names to be vitally important in establishing relationships.       A.   God gave man the name Adam and Adam gave the woman the name              Eve (Gen. 3:20)              1.   Throughout the Bible, the name of a person is given with significant                     importance.                           “No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be                            Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.”                                        (Gen. 17:5)                           “As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai.  Her                            name will be Sarah.”   (Gen 17:5 & 15)                         “at the name of Jesus every knee will bow”  (Phil. 2:10)                         “but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of                           Life.” (Rev. 21:27b)     B.   In _______________________ with people in the church and out of the                church, it is vitally important to learn their names.     C.   People are made to ______________ they matter when you take the time              to remember their name.    Three Steps to Being Genuine:              1st  Connect - _____________________________________________                2nd  Discover - ____________________________________________                3rd Respond - _____________________________________________
