Text Box:     America, the Beautiful    Text:      Phil. 4:4-7 Thesis: “In God We Trust”    I.  “America!  America!  God shed His grace on Thee”       “Rejoice in the Lord always!  I will say it again:  Rejoice!”  (vs. 4)      A.  As Americans we have a lot to be ________________________for.            1.  We have a country in which we can worship God according to the                   dictates of our heart.            2.  We have freedoms to choose the “who, what, where, and whens” of                  life.            3.  We have more food and more variety of foods than kings in the past.            4.  We have more things than 2/3 of the world.    II.  “America!  America!  God mend thine every flaw,”       A.  As Americans we need to pray that God will _____________ our land. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”  (vs. 6) 1.  Pray that God will heal our ungrateful hearts      a.  We must be able to present “petition with thanksgiving”       B.  As Americans we need to pray that God will ________________us.   *unite means – 1. to join together so as to form a whole; combine; compound.  2. to bring into close connection, as by legal, physical, social, or other tie; join in action, interest etc.  3. to join in marriage.  4. to attach permanently or solidly; cause to adhere; bond. (Funk & Wagnall)       C.  Three areas we must be united together as a nation             1st – We must be united in our own hearts and minds in regard to our                       personal relationships with God.                     ____________ said, “He who is not with me is against me.”                          (Matt. 12:30)                     Joshua states, “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you,                         then choose for yourselves this day. . . “(Joshua 24:15)                    James reminds us that “a double-minded man is unstable in all he                          does” (James 1:8)             2nd – We must pray that God will unite our ___________________. Family members need one another, especially in hard times Strong families make a strong nation              3rd – We must pray that God will unite our _______________.                       Jesus said, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined.”                         (Matt. 12:25)                      a.  We must pray that God will raise up a Godly leader that can                                  unite America once again.   “United we stand, divided we fall”                      b.  We must pray that revival comes to God’s people.                                              See 2 Chronicles 7:14-15        D.   It appears that America is at a crossroad.  See Jeremiah 6:16-23
