Daily Devote Yourselves To Loving God In Word, Thought and Deed

 Text: Matthew 22: 37-40
Thesis: Some Faiths believe you sin against God daily in word thought and deed. I believe scripture teaches us that we can be spiritual pro-active by loving God daily in word, thought and deed. Jesus said it this way, : " `Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. . 39And the second is like it: `Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22)

 I. May your Love for God be revealed in your ______________.
             A. The nature and origin of words are derived from the _______________ of              Christ.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1)

                 B. Words have the power to ____________.
Gen.    1:  3  And God s, "Let there be light," and there was light.
Gen.    1:  6  And God s, "Let there be an expanse between the waters, (sky)
Gen.    1:  9  And God s, "Let the water under the sky be gathered (earth and sea)
Gen.    1: 11 Then God s, "Let the land produce vegetation:
Gen.    1: 14  And God s, "Let there be lights in the expanse (sun, moon & stars)
Gen.    1: 20  And God s, "Let the water teem with living creatures.
                 1. _________________________________ are created.
             2. _________________________ are made.
             3. __________________ occurs.

                 C. Words have the power to ______________.
5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. (James 3)

                 D. Words will bring either ____________________ or __________________              at the “Day of Judgement”.
Jesus said, 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned." (Mathew 12)

Application: Let your daily devotion to God go beyond the period of time called devotions. Let your devotion to God be revealed in your love for him, through out the entire day. May it be evidenced in your Words, Thoughts and Deeds (your thoughts and deeds will be addressed in the next couple of Sundays).
