Text Box:   Bringing Back the Book    Text:     2 Kings 22:8-20 Thesis:  This passage of scripture reveals the vital importance in both                 personal and national life to read God’s Word.    I.  The law was lost right in the Temple itself.  (vs.8)              A.  God’s Word is often found lying on the coffee tables and the night                    stands of our houses covered in layers of dust or magazines.              B.  God is calling the Christian to ___________________ the joy of His                   Word.    II.  Its recovery leads to repentance.  (vs. 9-11) A.  “When the king heard the words of the Book of the law, he tore his              robes.”  (vs.11) 1. Josiah after hearing from God’s Word was filled with        ______________ because of their personal and national disobedience. 2.  ___________________ was Josiah’s response to God’s Word.    III.  Repentance leads to Revival.  (vs. 12-13)              A.  Josiah commands his inner circle of his cabinet to “Go and inquire of the Lord.”                           1.  As followers of Christ we need to take the ______________                 in our homes, businesses, city councils, school boards and  etc. to read God’s Word out loud even if we risk persecution.                           2.  “God’s Word will not go out and come back empty”                                         (see Isaiah 55:8-11)                           3.  ____________ your kids the 10 commandments while they                                are young.    IV.  Revival makes possible a reprieve.  (vs. 14-20) A. The Lord speaks to ____________ through the prophetess Huldah.               (vs. 14-17)                     1.  She was _______________________ by God as faithful.
