Text: Gen. 4:1-16

Thesis: God loves a cheerful giver.

I. This is the first recorded sacrifice in the Bible.

A. To sacrifice is to demonstrate submission to God.

1. To give a tithe and offering is to bow before God.

B. To sacrifice is to demonstrate our love to God.

1. Love for another is evidenced in our willingness to give.

II. Abel brought the fat portions from some of his firstborn of his flock.

A. The offering Abel gave came from his own earnings.

B. The offering was generous and of quality.
