Text: Philippians 1:3-6 Thesis: “Jesus saved my soul but the Church saved my life.” Pastor Chuck
I. The people of the Church create lasting memories. (vs.3) A. Saint Paul thanks God for the Church. 1. The Church embraced Saint Paul even after being the evil Saul. a.) The Church was called to love sinners and embrace the saints.
B. The Church builds family memories. C. The Church is the adoption plan of God. . 12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- 13children born not of natural descent,C nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. [1] (John Chapter 1)
II. The People of the Church are Partners in ministry. (vs. 4) A. Saint Paul prays for his people. 1. Prayer Partners produce power for the battle. . 11As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. [2](Exodus Chapter 17) 2. Ministry is a joint effort. 11It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. [3](Ehesians Chapter 4)
III. Saint Paul expresses confidence in the Salvation of his fellow Christian. (vs6) A. Salvation is about Christ from start to finish. B.
