The
Refuge

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised above the hills, and people will stream to it.  Many nations will come and say, “come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of God of Jacob.”           Micah 4:1-2

Our church can be Your home.

GOD, THE LOVER OF LIFE

Text: Exodus 23: 1-9
Thesis: God is Pro-Life.

I. Protecting the innocent is at the heart of God.

There is a misunderstanding that says, “It is not the business of
the Church to appose abortion or euthanasia.”

The creator of life also created the Church.

Humanity is made in the image of God.

God warns against perverting the truth.

                        20Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, [1](Isaiah 5)

God will not justify the judicial systems ruling to legalize abortion.

“Since Roe vs. Wade, a 1973 Supreme Court decision, over 41 million
precious lives have been lost”. Dr. James Dobson

God’s law supercedes all other law.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE TO BE APPLIED

Christians must stand with God opposing laws allowing for abortion and
euthanasia.
Pray those laws promoting the killing of innocent life will be changed.

Be involved in legal protest.

Vote only for those who are Pro-life.

II. God commands us not to take innocent life. (vs. 7)

Humans are made in the image of God. (Genesis 1:27)

            “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God He created him;
male and female he created them.”

The sixth Commandment forbids murder. (Exodus 20:13)

13"You shall not murder. [2]

We are known as a living human being prior to birth and not a fetus.
(Psalms 139: 13-16)

            “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in that secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, you saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE TO BE APPLIED

We must share God’s love for human life and the same resolve to defend and
protect the innocent.

            B. We must confess past sins and accept God’s forgiveness.
