The
Refuge

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised above the hills, and people will stream to it.  Many nations will come and say, “come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of God of Jacob.”           Micah 4:1-2

Our church can be Your home.

“My Yoke Is Easy…”

Jesus

A.       Text:  Matthew 11: 25-29

Thesis:  Christ has created a provision for us to have rest.

I. Jesus tells us our stress and anxiety is not apart of His will.

False Beliefs:

We believe worry is the same as being responsible.

We believe it is God’s desire for us to play the “Martha”.

II. Jesus invites us to bring our burden to him.

“Come to me…” (vs.28a)

Jesus can stand up under our load.

“Cast all your cares on him for he cares for you.”

We give our anxieties to Jesus through prayer.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer  and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”  (Philippians 4:6)

Jesus will give us peace in exchange for our burdens.

“And the peace of God which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

“…all you who are weary and burdened…” (vs28b)

The invitation is for everyone.

The sinner can find rest for his or her soul.

The believer can find strength in ministry.

EVENING SERVICE

III. Jesus challenges us to accept the “easy yoke”.

The Christian must operate in the Spirit and not the flesh.

The Christian must operate by grace and not legalism.

Jesus invites us to learn of him.

Jesus instructs us to learn of this, “I desire mercy not sacrifice.”

The Christian must experience joy, meaning and purpose in ministry.

The Christian must beware of those who “lord it over on others”.
