The
Refuge

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised above the hills, and people will stream to it.  Many nations will come and say, “come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of God of Jacob.”           Micah 4:1-2

Our church can be Your home.

“Get Your Feet Wet For God”

TEXT:  Joshua 3:14-4:1-7

THESIS:  “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”  Hebrews 11:6

* * *

I.  God demanded an evidence of Faith prior to producing a
miracle.
  (3:1-17)

God commanded the priest to “go stand in the river”
(3:8)

God expected the priest to reveal their faith before God and their fellow man.

It was not an option.

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exits and that he rewards those
who earnestly seek him.”
 (Hebrews 11:6)

God expected the priest to get their feet literally wet.

“Too many Christians want to remain at a comfortable distance and watch God perform.  However, God desires the Christian to cease from being a spectator and become a key player in producing the miraculous.”
Pastor Chuck

Why does God want us to be involved?

God wants to bless us by allowing us to be a part of

something that is God-size.

God wants his children to work along side of him.

II. God produced the miracle by parting the waters.  (3:16)

God commands the natural elements.

The Jordon River was at flood stage.

90-100 feet wide and 3-12 feet deep.

The waters piled up 20 miles up stream.

The ground became dry.

Approximately 2 ˝ million people crossed over.
(3:17)

        C.        God commanded a physical monument to be built, as a reminder of
                his presence, power and mercy, for all generations to see.
(4:6-7)
