In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised above the hills, and people will stream to it.  Many nations will come and say, “come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of God of Jacob.”           Micah 4:1-2

WE NEED ONE ANOTHER

  

TEXT:                   Hebrews 10:25

THESIS:               God created us with two unique needs; to worship him and to fellowship with believers.

 

The Top 5 Reasons People Go To Church.

  

I. I need God to help me with my problems.

  

 

A.     The three main temporal needs are:

 

1.     Financial difficulties.

 2.     Marriage Problems.

 3.     Difficulties in raising children.

  

B.     The BIG Question-“Will I continue to need God once my temporal need is met?”

  

 

II. God commands me to go to Church.  “Forsake not…”

  

A.     Service given out of “moral ought” will not produce joy but only create frustration.

 

1.  The Psalmist shares his heart concerning worship in the Psalms.

 

 

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere;  I would rather

be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Psalm 84: 10

 

 

I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD.”

Psalm 122:1

  

B.     I fear missing out on heaven.

 

  

III.  It helps me to be a better person.

 

 

A.     God’s Commands are taught. When I go to church I am a better person.

  

B.     God’s Commands are taught.

  

C.     I am caught up in an emotional moment due to a religious experience.

  

IV.  I Love my neighbor. (see Mark 12:31)

 

 

A.     Everyone needs a friend and to be around friendly people.

  

B.     I develop as a person in community not isolation.

 

 

V. I Love God. (see Mark 12:30)

 

 

A.     I want to worship my God.

  

B.     I want to know more about my Lord.

  

C.   I want to learn how to serve him better.
