The
Refuge

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised above the hills, and people will stream to it.  Many nations will come and say, “come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of God of Jacob.”           Micah 4:1-2

Our church can be Your home.

PROMOTION DAY

Text: John 3:1-9; vs. 16

Thesis: In Jesus Christ we can experience the highest of “Promotions”

I. Promotion begins at spiritual birth.

            A. Jesus said, “You must be born again.” (Vs 7)

                        1. Spiritual birth is like physical birth but totally different.

            a. You are brand new.

17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2Cor:5)

               b. You have been born into a family.

12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- 13children born not of natural descent,C nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (John 1)

            c. You are given a purpose for living.

(Read “Purpose Driven Life” pages 30-34)

II. Promotion is completed for the Christian in the next life.

            A. Death for the Christian is only a door into heaven.

                        1. Jesus said, “whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

                        2. In this life we can experience Salvation and Sanctification but in the next life we will experience Glorification.

*Salvation is forgiveness from sin and a new relationship with Jesus.(Romans 6:23)

*Sanctification is a consecration of self to God and his cleansing us completely. (1 Thessalonians. 5:23&24)

*Glorification is the receiving of our heavenly body that is free of decay and suffering and we will be capable of experiencing perfect joy and knowledge. (1Corinthians 15:42-44)
