Refuge

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised above the hills, and people will stream to it.  Many nations will come and say, “come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of God of Jacob.”           Micah 4:1-2

Prayer is God-Recognition

Text: Philippians 4:6-7

Thesis: In order to recognize the sound of God’s voice and know His words, you must listen and spend time with Him.

I. You hear and know a person’s voice by sound and the content of their speech.

A. God speaks in a still, steady, comforting tone.

B. God’s voice is not accusing.

C. God always speaks the truth.

II. You learn God’s voice by being in a constant, long-term relationship with Him.

A. There are no substitutes for quantity and quality in relationship.

B. Spend time praying on your knees going about your daily lives while interacting with other people

C. Read the Scriptures daily.

III. You listen and follow instruction from those you trust.

A. Trust is built over time ~ not purchased at a whim.

B. Test the Spirits to ensure your listening to the right voice.
