Practical Truth for Holy Living (Part 1)

 TEXT:  James 1: 19-20

 I.  Holiness of heart produces excellence.

A.     Holiness ___________________ the Christian to be able to “SHUT UP” and listen to another.

1.        Listening is not a natural response.

2.      Listening is more than hearing words.

3.       Listening is a characteristic of God.

B.       Holiness ___________________ the Christian with wisdom to speak at the appropriate time.

THE SERENITY PRAYER

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

Courage to change the things I can and

Wisdom to know the difference.”

C.     Holiness ___________________ the heart with the “Love of Christ” which makes self-control possible.

1.        Selfish anger is destructive.

2.      God can transform you into a “soul winner” instead of a “character assassin.”
