The
Refuge

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised above the hills, and people will stream to it.  Many nations will come and say, “come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of God of Jacob.”           Micah 4:1-2

Our church can be Your home.

LIGHT and DARKNESS

TEXT:      James 3: 13-18 and Proverbs 4:18-19

THESIS:   There is a stark contrast between the Christian and the World.  However, the Christian must share the Good      News of Christ to the world.

* * *

I.  God’s word contrasts the difference between light and darkness.

   GOD’S WISDOM                           versus                               WORLD’S WISDOM

1.  “Good (Godly) life (vs 13)UnGodly life “of the devil” (vs 15)
2.  “Deeds done in humility” (vs 17) Deeds done with “Selfish Ambition” “denying the truth”
3.  Pure, peace-loving, considerate Guilty, lover of violence, no eternal        fruit,
Submissive, full of mercy & good   fruit, impartial and sincere.            inconsiderate, resists God, unmerciful, prejudice, couldn’t care less about what pleases God.

A.     Our salvation is evidenced in our lifestyle changes.

II.  The thought process of the Christian is different from the non-Christian because our value system is different.

A.     The Christian believes:

                                                    1) Our relationship with Jesus is our highest priority

                                                    2)  Heaven is our ultimate goal

                                                    3) Our objective is to lead everyone we know to Jesus.

B.      Our values determine how we use our Time, Talents & Resouces.

III.  The Christian as “Peace-Makers” must seek to bring the lost soul to Jesus.

A.     “Jesus came to seek and to save that which is lost.”  Luke 19:10

B.      As Christians we are called to reach out to a lost world.
