ACTION STEP: Confess your sin of slothfulness and commit to do ministry for God. * * * I. Ask God to bless you in order that you may be a blessing to others. A. Do not seek after the things of the world but seek to know the spiritual gift God has entrusted you with. 1. Discover your spiritual gift through gift-analyses and/or through experience. B. God has entrusted you with a unique spiritual gift according to the way he created you. C. God has raised you up “for such a time as this.” II. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 A. Fatigue (weariness) is common to everyone and, everyone is invited to come to Christ for strength, but we are not given the option to give up. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28-30 B. “Doing Good” (Galatians 6:9a) “What on earth are we doing for heaven’s sake.” (unknown) 1. God has given us many ministry opportunities. a. Teaching, Preaching, Evangelism, Compassion, Ministries, Missions, Children, Teens, Adult Ministry, Practical Service, Making Money, Administration, etc., etc., etc. C. “Proper time” (Galatians 6:9) Submit to God’s timing. D. “We will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9c) III. We will be accountable for how and if we used the gifts God entrusted us with. |
